About and the information of indigenous people month




Every year, the month of October is dedicated to the observance of National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month in the Philippines. This month-long celebration commemorates the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) on its 27th year in 2024, with the theme "Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalana" or Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge. This theme underlines how to recognize and respect cultural heritage, wisdom, and traditions of the Indigenous Peoples of the country. With this celebration, the Philippine government, various stakeholders, and local communities come together to promote the rights, welfare, and identity of the Indigenous communities.


The National Indigenous Peoples Month is important in raising awareness about the unique culture, language, and traditions of IP groups, which have long been marginalized and overlooked in the larger society. Through programs, discussions, and activities, the observance educates the public on the importance of preserving Indigenous cultures, which are deep-rooted in the sustainable management of natural resources and have centuries-old traditions of respect for nature and community solidarity. In this sense, IPs are not merely historical figures but active contributors to the development of the nation, especially when it comes to environmental conservation and sustainable practices.


The 27th year of IPRA commemoration is significant as it marks over two decades of legal protections for the Indigenous communities. The IPRA, which was enacted in 1997, seeks to recognize, protect, and promote the rights of Indigenous Peoples to their ancestral lands, cultural integrity, and self-determination. This law was a monumental step in affirming the importance of Indigenous heritage and providing legal mechanisms for the preservation of their way of life. As the country observes Indigenous Peoples Month in 2024, the law’s impact is more relevant than ever. This is a call to the government and the Filipino people to continue the work of valuing, nurturing, and honoring the IPs, ensuring that their rights are safeguarded for future generations.


For this year's 2024 celebration, IKS and practices are recognized in their value, especially now in today's world, wherein sustainability and environmental awareness become of utmost importance. Indigenous communities, with their rich knowledge of biodiversity, conservation, and ecological balance, can offer invaluable insights into modern-day challenges like climate change. This observance of National Indigenous Peoples Month not only celebrates the resilience and wisdom of IPs but also reinforces the commitment to uphold the law that protects their rights and culture.

 As to what I know,I have discovered about the history of the internet and it's iconic apps like Facebook and YouTube,I have also discovered about blogging and the different types of blogging. My problems arise when I have to use the shortcut keys for once,it was very hard to memorize and to use.
